Low Carb Fast Food Options – Keto Friendly Fast Food On The Go – with ideas for keto diet breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
Over the past couple of weeks I have filmed/photographed my Low Carb Keto Diet Friendly Fast Food while I’ve been out and about here in Melbourne, Australia.
Once you look into it, there are actually so many delicious options at a wide variety of restaurants and fast food chains. Here are my favourites:Bunless Burgers
We’ll start our low carb fast food options with the obvious choice – a bunless burger.
Whether it’s a fast food burger or a gourmet, grass fed – burgers are easy to enjoy bunless. I’ve found that most requests for bunless burgers are served with extra lettuce to use in place of the bun.
Just be aware of included sauces which may be loaded with sugars.
BBQ/Charcoal/Grilled Chicken
If there’s a Nandos near you then you’re in luck because a WHOLE chicken contains a little over 6 grams of carbs. My husband and I usually share a chicken (and have plenty of leftovers) for 3 carbs each!
We’ve also had a couple of BBQ Chickens from a local Charcoal Chicken take away and they are a great low carb fast fast option.
Grilled chicken may also be an option at chains that offer fried chicken, ask for no batter and grilled instead.
Meatballs
There are loads of places serving meatballs these days. Just try and view the nutritional info if at all possible to check the actual carb content because they may be loaded with fillers.
Burrito Bowl
Ditch the rice, beans and tortilla to enjoy a bowl full of meat, veggies and CHEESE!
Meat Bowls
I’ve found Souvlaki Take Aways to be accommodating with serving a gener0us portion of meat in a bowl instead of in a wrap.
Japanese
There are a few options at Japanese/Sushi take aways such as Sashimi or Sushi without any rice, or Tataki (a platter of rare beef) as pictured above.
You could also opt for Yakitori which is grilled chicken on a stick.
Smoothies
A little hunt will find a couple of keto options. Opt for an almond milk smoothie and skip any sweeteners or sugar loaded fruits.
Salad Bowls
You may be able to find big green salads loaded with Keto friendly ingredients. I even found one topped with scrambled eggs that is only 1g of carbs per serve! (As pictured above)
Watch out for sugar in dressings and sauces!
Eggs
Eggs are an awesome low carb fast food option. So many take away restaurants offer a breakfast menu, and possibly even an all day breakfast menu – meaning you can have your eggs, any way you like them, any time of the day.
