About once a month or so we take the boys on a train adventure to Melbourne City. I love walking them through Melbourne’s hidden lane-ways and seeing tram after tram travel through the city streets. Mr 2 takes great joy in pointing out EVERY tram…
The boys particularly enjoy watching the Bee Tram Buzz past us through the Bourke Street Mall…
Sometimes I will take a healthy kids snack box with us for the outing, other times we head to The Organic Food and Wine Deli (TOFWD) for a nourishing, organic snack or meal to keep us going on our adventure.
On a recent trip the boys shared an organic, vegan, wheat free, sugar free muesli square ($4.50) and I indulged in a slice of organic, raw, vegan lemon cheesecake ($6.50). The boys LOVED their muesli square, Mr 4 even commented “these are just like the nuts I like at home!”
My lemon cheesecake tasted like a rich, authentic cheesecake and I savoured every mouthful… (though the boys wanted a try too so I generously shared a couple of bites!)
On other visits we’ve also enjoyed their organic soba noodle salad and raw chocolate cake… all incredibly delicious and deeply nourishing.
As we’re about to embark on a GAPS Diet Journey our visits to the city will be more about sightseeing that indulging in organic treats. As soon as we’re allowed a more broad diet, I see us heading back to TOFWD for our favourite Melbourne City treats.
