48 Hours In Tokyo
Our schedule allowed a 48 hour stopover in Tokyo and we had to make a decision whether to stay in central Tokyo or in the Narita neighbourhood. We went with the latter for a few reasons.
My research into the options was exhaustive and I came to the conclusion that being closer to the airport for our late night arrival and departure would be more seamless for our family of four. The Narita area of Tokyo has plenty of restaurants, shops and even one of Japan’s biggest temples, so we would have plenty to see and do in the 48 hours.
Here’s how we spent our 48 hours:
We arrived late Sunday evening and our hotel offered a FREE airport transfer which made the trip from the airport to hotel breeze.
After a good nights sleep, we were up bright and early Monday morning and caught the bus from Narita Station to Aeon Shopping Mall where we explored the mall and supermarket:
The first evening we enjoyed what was our most memorable meal of our Tokyo trip:
Our second and final day we walked from our hotel to the local temple and spent the day exploring the tranquillity of the temple grounds and gardens:
Each morning we had breakfast at our hotel:
A visit to Japan wouldn’t be complete without a 7-11 shop and we were not disappointed by the goodies on offer:
That brings us to the end of our 48 stopover in Tokyo. We feel we made the right decision in exploring the Narita neighbourhood instead of going into the hustle and bustle of central Tokyo.
We had a memorable, authentic experience and can’t wait to get back to explore more!
