Japanese Hotel Breakfast Buffet
We opted to have breakfast at our hotel while in Japan. We were greeted with a breakfast buffet full of Japanese and Western meal options and took advantage of the combination by enjoying a plateful of all sorts of delicious food items.
The Japanese options included omelettes, pancakes, cooked fish, miso soup, cooked vegetables, pickled vegetables and more.
There was also a delicious choice of exotic fruit that we sampled. Not entirely sure what this fruit was, it tasted like a lychee – was really sweet and fresh and my 5 year old was a fan!
The Western options included cereals, milk, pastries, toast with spreads and hot items such as sausages and chips.
My absolute favourite were the cold poached eggs. They were so good spread on toast and I enjoyed a couple each morning.
The kids of course enjoyed chips! They were actually proper potato wedge type chips and they had them alongside toast and other breakfast goodies. The kids needed the energy for all the walking we did each day, so I didn’t get too stressed about them having chips for breakfast – we were on holiday after all!
Here is a brief tour of the buffet, a closer look at the poached eggs and my typical Japanese Hotel Breakfast:
Overall we enjoyed a delicious few mornings of breakfast at our hotel and relished the opportunity to sample the local cuisine, while also having access to familiar foods too.
