Croissant French Toast
From time to time I like to treat my boys to croissants while we are out and about. I purposefully buy a larger than needed bag full of croissants from the bakery so that I can make Croissant French Toast with leftover, possibly stale, croissants.
Similar to Cinnamon French Toast Sticks, only dip your croissant into your batter briefly to prevent it from becoming too soggy and falling apart when cooked.
Infusing cinnamon and vanilla into the French toast batter results in a beautifully fragrant and deliciously flavourful dish that will appeal to the whole family.
When preparing the batter, I omit including sugar as I drizzle maple syrup over the complete Croissant French Toast and find that to be perfectly sweet. If you’d prefer yours sweeter then you could always add a couple of teaspoons of sugar or maple syrup into the batter.
This recipe makes the perfect amount for 3 croissants, if you have more (or less) croissants adjust the volumes accordingly. If you have leftover batter then it can be used to prepare French toast with regular bread.
