Prahran Market – Tour, Grocery Haul & Video
Melbourne has such an amazing choice of weekly markets and farmers markets. One of which is Prahran Market. You’ll find a delicious array of food halls, packed with local, fresh produce. I shared a post about Prahran Market a few years ago, and felt it was about time I shared an update. (Plus a video!)
I usually go to Prahran Market with a specific goal in mind – sourcing organic, grass fed offal/organ meats. I usually take advantage of being at the market and, while I’m there, pick up fresh sourdough and fresh fruit and vegetables.
As it’s the midst of Winter, there was a beautiful selection of in season mushrooms and delicate truffles on display.
Grocery Haul:
I came home with bags full of produce – spring onions, a leek, organic apples and bananas, parsley, sourdough and a couple of nourishing beverages too.
On this occassion I was successful in acquiring chicken liver, bone marrow and lamb shanks. I can’t wait to get cooking and share recipes for chicken liver pate and roast bone marrow with you in the next week. (I’ve already shared a recipe for my favourite use for lamb shanks!)
