Keto + Low Carb Snack Ideas – On The Go Snack Box
In our pre low carb days I would take granola bars and other carb full items to keep us nourished while out an about. So, I’ve been in full blown recipe research and experimentation mode since starting a low carb diet.
After scouring Instagram, Pinterest and my fave blogs for snack inspiration, I put together this on the go snack box full of keto friendly low carb snack ideas.
Here’s what I included:
- Salad – I whipped up a salad that would travel well and be fine without a few hours of refrigeration. I included a bed of spinach leaves and topped them with chopped cherry tomatoes and grated cheese. I finished off the salad with a generous drizzling of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a pinch of salt.
- Nuts – I weighed out a portion of a combination of hazelnuts and macadamias – my two favourite nuts, feel free to include your favourite nuts and/or seeds instead.
- Fruit – If you have room in your daily carb allowance, then consider including a small portion of strawberries for sweetness on the go.
An on the go snack box like this is great for keeping nourished between meals as well as supplementing what you can find in food courts/restaurants while you’re out.

- Jerky
- Veggie sticks
- Seaweed or Kale Crisps
- Protein Bar
- Cheese
- Coconut Chips
- Nut Butter
- Avocado
- Hard boil egg or devilled egg
- Nuts
- Olives
- Celery spread with nut butter or cream cheese
- Low carb chocolate square
- Homemade low carb muffin/crackers/cookies or other baked treat
- Small tin of tuna/salmon/sardines
Of course these low carb snack ideas are great, not only if you’re following a low carb/keto diet, but for healthy snacks for everyone!
