4 Week Keto Diet Weight Loss Results + Full Day Of Eating Video
The past month has flown by and I can’t believe I’m already 4 weeks into my Keto Diet journey. I recently added a Keto Diet page where I talk more about the ins and outs of following a Keto Diet.
For today, I’m going to talk about my personal experience of the first 4 weeks of following the Ketogenic Diet and my 4 Week Keto Diet Weight Loss Results.
The month has been full of ups and downs, but overall it’s been an incredibly positive experience, as you’ll read through this blog post.
Easing into Keto
My Keto strategy was to start with a higher daily carb limit than is generally suggested.
So, I started with 50g of net carbs for the first few days while I learnt about what foods are Keto friendly and adapting to the Keto way of cooking and eating.
Once I was comfortable at 50g I moved down to 35g for a few days and then finally settled on 20-25g.
I found that easing into Keto this way was much easier that what it would have been if I had gone straight to 20g.
My weight loss may have been slower than if I’d have gone straight to 20g, but then I also may have struggled a lot more and given up from frustration.
Physical and Mental Results
Aside from the weight loss results (which I’ll get to in a moment), I’ve experiences significant physical and mental results, including:
- Smoother skin
- Cleaner feeling teeth
- Enhanced mental clarity – I feel I can focus easier on blogging and other tasks.
- More energy – I jump out of bed in the morning without feeling groggy in the morning and have plenty of energy to keep up with my young kids.
Keto Diet Food
My 4 Week Keto Diet Weight Loss Results were a result of loving the diet, food and adventure of learning to adapt to a new way of cooking.
As you’ll see from the video before where I show a full day of eating, there’s a delicious array of Keto friendly foods that make up my daily diet.
In fact sometimes I have so many meal ideas I just don’t know what to make first!
My key to success is to ALWAYS have Keto friendly foods easily available in the fridge, pantry and even my handbag for when I’m out and about.
These are some examples:
- I always have hard boiled eggs in the fridge which can instantly be turned into an egg salad, devilled eggs or just eaten whole as a snack or to form part of a meal.
- My pantry is constantly stocked with tins of tuna, an easy was to meet your protein targets without consuming carbs, I just mix a tin with sour cream or mayo and it’s the perfect snack or meal addition.
- I keep a bag of nuts in my handbag so at least I have an on the go snack if I need it.
I’ve also been enjoying experimenting with new recipes and discovering Keto friendly ways to enjoy family favourites.
I recently acquired a waffle maker and couldn’t wait to make Keto Friendly Waffles.
As with other Keto adaptations, they turned out beautifully and I look forward to enjoying them as a treat from time to time. (Here’s my recipe for Keto Waffles.)
Weight Loss Results
During the first week I lost weight fairly quickly. This was most probably “water weight” and the following week my weight stalled.
It was at this point that I decided to take measurements and after a few days of the scale stalling discovered that I was losing inches/centimetres which kept me motivated to keep going with Keto.
The past month I’ve had a couple of big losses then stalls then another loss bringing my total for the month to 5.7kgs/12.5lbs which I’m ecstatic with.
I have loved every day of the Keto adventure so far and my 4 Week Keto Diet Weight Loss Results keep me motivated to keep going.
Keto Diet Before and After Photos
Firstly, here are a couple of photos of me before starting the Keto Diet.
I rarely took full length photos so the day I started I asked my Husband to take one of me at the park. You can tell I wasn’t happy about it!
On Instagram there’s a Hashtag which I’ve been participating in the past couple of weeks which is “facetofacefriday” and bascially you compare your face weeks/months/years apart.
So, that’s where I can really tell the difference. Here’s the latest submission. I feel as if my face has transformed tremendously in just 4 weeks.
