Full Day Of Intuitive Eating

Can the restrictive Ketogenic Diet and Intuitive Eating work together? Well, I’m experimenting to find out. Recently I shared more information about my Carb Cycling plans. In a nutshell I plan to spend 6 weeks on the Keto diet and then 6 weeks eating intuitively.

I plan to cycle between the two ways of eating for the foreseeable future. As my blog and channel has leaned towards the low carb, keto lifestyle I was hesitant to share a full day of intuitive eating for 2 reasons. Firstly I don’t want to influence those of you who want to stick to keto that eating off plan is necessary. Second I don’t want to glorify “cheating”. I hate the term “cheating” as that ends up vilifying food and there’s nothing positive in that.

In the end I decided to share as I have shared every aspect of my journey to date and I want to show that not being on full Keto doesn’t have to equate to an all in all day carb fest. Yes, my full day is WAY higher than a low carb or keto diet would “allow”, but it’s also a LOT lower than a “standard” diet.

As I come to the end of the first Intuitive Eating session, I documented a full day of eating. You’ll see that most meals are low carb/keto acceptable and then I find that each day I include a meal/snack that’s not in any way shape or form low carb.

I know that means that I’m out of Ketosis and I’m fine with that.

Breakfast

For breakfast I find that I gravitate to my Keto staples – eggs, veg and maybe meat too. On this occasion, I sautéed mushrooms and garlic in heaps of butter and then fried eggs until super crispy.

Morning Snack

Early in my Keto Journey a Cheese Tart store opened at a nearby shopping centre and I thought that one day I would like to try one. This was the day and I gleefully and without a shred of guilt tried my first cheese tart.

The pastry was crisp and mildly sweet and the centre gooey, cheesy perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed the tart and have now experienced it and can happily wait another 6 weeks while on strict keto before enjoying another one.

Lunch

As with the Cheese Tart, there was a Korean Fried Chicken restaurant that had opened while I was on Keto that I was wanting to try.

We got a plate to share as a family. The skin was perfectly crunchy and the chicken tender and juicy. Perfect Korean Fried Chicken.

There were no regrets with either of the above foods. I enjoyed every bite and stopped intuitively once I’d had enough.

Dinner

After a rich tasting morning snack and lunch I craved greens. So, for dinner I had a plate of greens, topped with corned beef silverside and sour cream. The perfect end to my full day of intuitive eating.
