Brussel Sprouts Bake Recipe
Lately brussel sprouts have been popping up at the supermarket, they have been as cheap as 50 cents a bag.
So, I’ve been making this easy, tasty brussels sprouts bake as the best way enjoy the season’s bounty in a main dish.
Even if you’re not usually a fan of brussels sprouts, or have someone in your family who is not a fan of the vegetable that sometimes has a bad reputation, they are sure to enjoy these crispy brussels sprouts that are always a welcome easy side dish on the dinner table.
Casserole recipes like this couldn’t be simpler to prepare. You simply chop the whole sprouts, pop them into a baking dish and smother them with a creamy, cheesy sauce.
Then, bake until golden and crisp to your liking and enjoy as a meal or as the perfect side dish for a Winter feast.
I just adore the combination of cream and sour cream. You could swap through and use all cream or all sour cream or add mayo into the mix too.
I’ve used grated cheddar cheese in the creamy cheese sauce in this delicious recipe, but you can swap for Parmesan cheese, Mozzarella Cheese, Gruyere Cheese or any cheese you like, or mix a few cheeses to make a super cheesy delicious side dish for a weeknight dinner table or holiday meals.
For seasoning and added flavor to the roasted veggies you can add in simple ingredients you can find at the grocery store such as salt like Kosher salt or sea salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, balsamic vinegar, lemon zest or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
You can top your brussels sprouts gratin with a crunchy topping this holiday season if you’d like, choosing from simply sprinkling over breadcrumbs or opting for crispy bacon, crumbled pork rinds or panko bread crumbs.
Depends on what you have to hand, what’s economical where you are and your tastes. Whatever way you mix it – the brussel sprouts recipe is a cheesy comfort bake which the whole family will enjoy on busy weeknights or special occasions.
