Coconut Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies

These coconut flour chocolate chip cookies taste like the real thing but are completely gluten free.

You only need a little coconut flour to create the perfect chewy cookies that are similar in taste to a traditional chocolate chip cookie, but without wheat flour.

If you’re wanting to make keto chocolate chip cookies then be sure to include a little bit of low carb diet approved sweetener and chocolate chips in the recipe.

The Simple Ingredients For The Easy Recipe

The simple ingredients mixed together for the gluten free keto easy recipe

Here’s the list of main ingredients that you’ll need to make the easy low carb cookies:

Butter – I’ve used unsalted butter, but you can swap to salted butter for a salted flavor to the cookies, or use coconut oil instead if you’d like the cookies to be dairy free paleo cookies.

Sugar or Stevia – depending on your tastes and dietary requirements, you can use any sugar or keto diet sweetener you’d like, including white sugar, brown sugar, maple syrup, coconut sugar, stevia, a liquid sweetener or your sweetener of choice.

Vanilla Extract – to add a comforting vanilla flavor to the great recipe.

Egg – I’ve used an egg in the recipe, but you could swap for egg replacers such as flax eggs in the wet ingredients if you’d prefer to make egg free cookies.

Salt – enhances the sweetness of the keto cookies, add in a generous pinch or more, depending on the flavor you’d like.

Baking tray filled with cookie dough ready for the oven

Coconut Flour – this incredible alternative to white flour, all purpose flour or regular flour is super absorbent, a little goes a long way so you only need a quarter of a cup in the dry ingredients to create the perfectly formed cookie dough.

You won’t even notice the coconut flavor in the cookies, the flavors from the vanilla, chocolate chips and butter overpowers the sometimes overwhelming coconut flour.

When you include coconut flour in cookie recipes, as opposed to other types of flour, they are a little more delicate, so you have to be patience once they are baked, allow them to cool to room temperature to firm up before removing them from the cookie sheet.

Chocolate Chips – you can use dark chocolate chips or sugar-free chocolate chips so that the cookies are permitted on keto diets, or if you’re not following a low carb diet, you can feel free to use milk chocolate chips, white chocolate chips or chop up any chocolate you’d like to fold into the cookie dough.

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Egg
  • Pinch of Sea Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Coconut Flour

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F, get out a baking tray or cookie sheet and line it with well greased baking parchment paper.

  7. Move to the oven for 10-15 minutes or until slightly golden brown.
