Like most kids, my kids absolutely adore pizza. We enjoy it occasionally at local pizza restaurants and on even rarer occasions I have made pizza dough from scratch. A quicker, easier and healthier way to enjoy this yummy family favourite is Pita Pizzas.
It really is as easy as it sounds. Gather together your basic ingredients – a pita, passata (tomato puree) and grated cheese.
You spread tomato passata and sprinkle grated cheese over the pita. Then it’s simply a matter of baking and enjoying!

- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F and line a baking tray with aluminum foil.
- Place a pita on the prepared baking tray.

We like to keep it super simple with just passata and cheese on our pita pizzas, but feel free to personalize your pita pizzas with your favourite toppings, herbs and spices.
We enjoyed this particular pita pizza for lunch and it also doubled as a fun maths exercise. We cut the pita pizza into eight slices and discussed fractions. Then we discussed what would happen when one piece of pita pizza goes into your tummy, how many are left? The boys enjoyed their impromptu maths lesson and the pita pizza even more!
