Recently we took the kids to Mr Brightside Cafe for breakfast to celebrate the upcoming launch of our Melbourne Osteopathy Clinic. We had an incredible meal and the food was of such amazing quality that I just had to share the experience with you.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a review of an eating experience with the family. We rarely enjoy meals away from home and even rarely do I feel compelled to share the details of that meal with you… so you know it’s got to be good when I share a post about a cafe or restaurant.
As a whole foodie family, we prefer for meals away from home to be nourishing and as close to home cooked as possible. So, when I had a look at the wide variety of fresh cooked meals on The Menu at Mr Brightside I just knew I had to check it out with my family. I was particularly impressed with their kids meal choices.
The cafe was busy and a buzz of activity when we arrived, so we were lucky to get a table straight away. The boys were given crayons and paper while my Husband and I perused the menu.
We started with our morning hot drinks – my Husband is a hot chocolate man while I love my latte’s. I limit myself to 1 a day (to avoid coffee jitters!) and this one was simply perfect!
Then it was on to the delicious food. I chose French Toast with Ice Cream & Maple Syrup for the kids. I ordered one portion for each of them, but to be honest the portions were so huge for my 3 and 5 year olds, that next time I’ll order one for them to share!

My Husband and I both chose the Potato Hash Browns with Beef Brisket, Poached Eggs & Grain Mustard Sauce.
Oh. My. Goodness. This is by far one of THE best breakfasts EVER! Well, my Husband kept saying that between mouthfuls and it truly was. The quality & quantity of brisket was just amazing – it was meltingly soft and full of delicious flavour.
We LOVE our meat in my family and even my 3 year old who was sitting next to me kept swiping the meat away from me!
Needless to say we had an incredible meal and you can be sure we will be back again soon!
