Gluten Free Apple Crumble Recipe
As the temperature starts to drop here in Melbourne I start to crave comforting, nourishing dishes and this Apple and Walnut Crumble does the job perfectly. It’s absolutely delicious – perfectly sweet and crunchy while being completely grain and gluten free – making it Paleo and GAPS Diet suitable.
It couldn’t be easier to make – fill the bottom of a pie dish with sliced or chopped apples. I went with sliced apples and attempted a creative pattern.
Next, make the topping. I got my 3 year old to help me crumble the walnuts – which is an excellent activity for young kids. Give them a cup full of walnuts – a bowl and instruct them to break them into as little pieces as possible. Keeps them busy while instilling independence and confidence in the kitchen. Here’s the crumble ready for the oven.
The completed crumble is then cooked in the preheated oven. Simple!
