Spinach Pesto Recipe and 3 Ways To Use It

This Spinach Pesto Recipe is just so easy and full of flavour that you’ll never buy store bought pesto again!

This recipe couldn’t be simpler, you simply place all of your ingredients into a mini food processor and blend until smooth!

The reason for my basil omission is that for some reason, basil just doesn’t agree with my digestive system and so I use spinach instead. Feel free to use a portion of basil if you like.

This recipe is the first I made using the new measuring cups I received last week. I found them to be sturdy and love how they are colour coded, made it really easy to pick out the right cup. (Check my full Amazon Haul here!)

Regarding the ingredients – watch the video below for some ideas for how you can make your own pesto combinations by adapting the type and amount of ingredients.

Now you have the Spinach Pesto Recipe, here are three yummy ways to use it:

  1. Spinach Pesto Pasta

Stir the spinach pesto through pasta. For a warm pasta dish, you could add a little pasta cooking water if you want the pesto a little creamier.

You can definitely enjoy this spinach pesto mixed through cold pasta, or even zucchini noodles, for a spinach pesto pasta salad.

2. Spinach Pesto Soup

Mix a couple of tablespoons of spinach pesto through a bowlful of soup.

This may seem unconventional, but it’s just so good – you’ve got to try it! The soup does develop a green hue but it brings so much flavour to an otherwise ordinary soup that you’ll be surprised!

3. Spinach Pesto Pizza

Use spinach pesto in place of a traditional tomato base on a pizza and top with your favourite pizza toppings.

Over to you – how would you use this spinach pesto?
