Keto Baking Essentials – Essential Low Carb Baking Ingredients for easy Ketogenic Diet desserts and baked treats. Including dessert recipes and ideas for the Ketogenic Diet baking supplies.
Keto Baking Essentials
As you’ll see, the Keto Baking Essentials you need to create low carb baked treats are few in number, but can be mixed and matched to create a delicious array of desserts.
Low Carb Flours
My go to flours are Coconut Flour and Almond Flour. Both create very different final products and are useful in a variety of circumstances. Coconut flour is great in baking, with recipes like brownies.
Chocolate
This include 85% or 90% Dark Chocolate and Cocoa or Cacao Powder. Sometimes a little bit of chocolate goes a long way, like in Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies, other times a bit of cocoa powder is all you need for a rich chocolatey dessert.
Stevia
There are a couple of options when it comes to what sweetener to include in your Keto Baking Essentisals. After much experimentation, Stevia is my sweetener of choice. I find that only a few tablespoons is needed in a recipe like Lemon Cake to sweeten.
Coconut Oil & Coconut Milk
Both coconut oil and coconut milk are great for increasing the fat content and flavour of a Keto Baked treat, while also being dairy free, keto friendly options too.
Nuts
This includes nut butter like almond or peanut butter, whole nuts and nut flours. All incredibly versatile in recipes like 3 ingredient Almond Butter Cookies, pictured above.
Fridge Essentials
My fridge is usually stocked with Keto Baking Essentials like butter, eggs, cream and cream cheese. All are useful for creating desserts like Keto Baked Custard and Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies.
I find that overall the best plan is to keep it simple. Start with one flour at a time to experiment and find which flour you prefer using and enjoying in baked treats. Then, take a look at the recipe index to find which sweet treat you’ll make first!
