Keto Mushroom Sauce For Steak or Pork or Chicken Breasts – Easy Low Carb, Gluten Free & Ketogenic Diet Friendly Creamy Sauce Recipes for a quick dinner side dish. With the video tutorial.
Keto Mushroom Sauce For Steak
This easy creamy keto mushroom sauce is my go to sauce whenever I’m having steak, chicken or another low carb or LCHF meal that needs a sauce.
You can make yours either plain and simple with just cream or blended together with other ingredients to create a creamy, dreamy sauce to your own personal tastes.
All you really need are mushrooms and cream to create the perfect creamy sauce that’s just irresistible to enjoy as a side dish with dinner or as a whole meal itself by the delicious bowl full.
The sauce can be enjoyed with meaty meals such as pan fried or grilled steak, chicken, burgers, sausages or pork or as a creamy sauce to enjoy as a vegetarian meal with zucchini noodles, cauliflower rice or low carb friendly pasta.
Creamy Mushroom Sauce Variations
Mushrooms are wonderfully low in carbs, with a cup of raw mushrooms having just 1g of net carbs, making them perfect to enjoy on a low carb diet.
You can include any sliced mushrooms you like in the sauce. Button mushrooms are usually my go to mushroom of choice, but you could also use portobello mushrooms or a mix of mushrooms for a variety of shapes, sizes and textures.
For the cream, you can use whatever cream you have in your fridge And, on the keto diet, you may have a selection to use in different dishes, so you can really use any in the sauce – heavy, double, whipping or single cream.
There are loads of keto friendly ingredients that you can mix and match to create your creamy mushroom sauce of choice.
Here are some ideas for you:
Garlic – chopped cloves or garlic, crushed garlic or garlic powder will create a garlic infused, creamy sauce.
Onion – add in diced onion or spring onion for additional flavor.
Seasoning – you can add in salt and pepper to taste, along with your choice of herbs, with oregano, thyme, dill, tarragon, parsley being some tasty ideas.
Sauce – there are a couple of sauce options to flavor the mushrooms, including mustard, Worcestershire sauce or even soy sauce or tamari.
Cheese – you can make a cheesy sauce by mixing through parmesan, grated cheese or even cream cheese.
Sour cream – you can swap the cream for sour cream or add in a dollop for a slightly soured flavor.
Dairy Free – make the sauce dairy free by making the side dish without cream, swapping the dairy cream for coconut milk, coconut cream or stock. You could also add in nutritional yeast if you’re after a dairy free cheesy mushroom sauce.
I usually enjoy this Keto Mushroom Sauce with steak, but have also enjoyed it with Chicken Breasts and roast chicken too.
