Apple and Cinnamon Oatmeal

I’ve been loving experimenting with oatmeal variations lately. So far I’ve shared chocolate and a chocolate banana recipe and today’s is all about apple.

This apple and cinnamon oatmeal is my go to breakfast lately. It’s sweet and so nourishing and a delicious start to the day.

How To Make Apple Pie Oatmeal

Ingredients for apple oatmeal with cinnamon

This apple and cinnamon oatmeal tastes like a comforting apple pie. To make it, combine together in a saucepan the apples with milk, water, cinnamon and maple syrup.

You can choose to peel the apples or not. I prefer keeping the peel on, for fiber and taste. You could also grate the apple if you’d prefer or chop, as I’ve done, for a chunkier apple experience.

Use whatever milk you usually enjoy. If you’re following a vegan diet then a dairy free milk works perfectly.

Once you’ve combined all of the ingredients together, pop them over a medium heat on the stove top. Stir regularly and cook until bubbling, the apple has softened and oats thickened.

Then, enjoy as is or serve topped with more chopped apple, nuts (I included walnuts), chopped dates or even whipped cream or coconut cream for a decadent apple pie oatmeal.

How to make vegan apple oatmeal

Apple and Cinnamon Oatmeal Recipe

  • 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 Cup Milk of Choice
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Apple, chopped (peeled or not)
  • 1 Tablespoon Maple Syrup
  1. Combine all of the ingredients together in a small saucepan.
  2. Place on the stove over a medium heat.
  3. Stir regularly and keep a close watch once bubbling.
  4. Cook until the apple has softened and the oats are thickened and creamy to your liking.
  5. Move to a bowl and serve with toppings such as nuts, more apple, dates or whipped cream.
