Recipe Tips
Blend For Cake-Like Texture
For a smoother baked oats texture that’s similar to chocolate cake, blend all of the ingredients together before baking.
Don’t Overbake
Bake only until the centre is just set. Overbaking can make baked oats dry.
Use Good Quality Cocoa Powder
Since chocolate is the star flavour, good cocoa powder makes a noticeable difference.
Grease The Ramekin Well
A well-greased ramekin helps prevent sticking and makes serving easier.
Let It Rest
Allow the baked oats to cool for 5 minutes before serving so the texture can fully set.
Chocolate Baked Oats Variations

Double Chocolate Baked Oats
Add an extra tablespoon (or more) of chocolate chips to the batter.
Peanut Butter Baked Oats
Swirl 1 tablespoon of creamy peanut butter through the mixture before popping in the oven.
Protein Chocolate Baked Oats
Replace 1 tablespoon of the oats with your favourite go to chocolate or vanilla protein powder.
Berry Chocolate Baked Oats
Add a handful of chopped or whole raspberries, strawberries or blueberries.
Cinnamon Baked Oats
Mix through 1/2 a teaspoon of ground cinnamon for extra warmth and flavour.
Honey Baked Oats
Swap the maple syrup for honey.
Greek Yogurt Chocolate Baked Oats
Serve with a dollop of Greek yogurt on top for extra protein.
