Keto Chocolate Bar Brands
There’s lots of choice when it comes to Keto Chocolate Bar Brands. Some which are store bought keto desserts and some which you can have easily delivered from Amazon.
Chocolate has always played a big part in my Keto Diet journey. I enjoyed a homemade hot chocolate, made with almond milk, a row of dark chocolate and stevia most days and still managed to lose 17kg/37lbs.
Before I get into how to sweeten dark chocolate and recipes for how to enjoy low carb dark chocolate, here are the chocolate bars I currently have in my collection:
Lindt
There’s a choice of 85%, 90% and I’ve also seen 99% Lindt dark chocolate options at my local supermarket. They can also be ordered from Amazon.
Godiva
This chocolate is luxurious and wonderful enjoyed slowly, by the square. It’s rich and dark and after a while on Keto I find that I can just tolerate this heavenly 90% dark chocolate.
You can find the chocolate at Godiva Stores, supermarkets or Amazon.
Marks & Spencer
We are lucky to have a few Marks and Spencer stores in Ireland and I stumbled on a 100% bar. The chocolate is incredibly intense and I can only enjoy the tiniest morsel unsweetened.
I’ve been finding myself melting a row in a hot chocolate and it richly dark perfection.
Montezuma
I found this chocolate on a trip to England and you can also find it on Amazon. It’s another intensely dark 100% chocolate that’s great to use in low carb sweet treats.
Aldi
Budget friendly ALDI is one of my regular go to Keto Chocolate Bar Brands. Their chocolate is low in sugars and carbs and great enjoyed by the row or in a chocolate sweet treat listed below.

How To Sweeten Keto Dark Chocolate Bars
Whether the chocolate is 85%, 90% or even ultra dark 100%, it’s possible to sweeten the chocolate to make it better in a number of ways.
You’ll find that if you try a row from one of the above keto chocolate bar brands it will be incredibly bitter due to the low sugar content.
Once you’ve been on keto for a while you may find that 85% or even 90% dark chocolate is tolerable, but 100% is just too incredibly bitter to be pleasantly palatable. (In my opinion.)
The obvious option is to melt the chocolate and mix through stevia, or your sweetener of choice, to sweeten the chocolate to your liking.
You can melt the chocolate either:
- In a microwave for 30 seconds a time, mixing and putting back into the oven until melted
- Over a double boiler which is when you bring a small amount of water to the boil in a saucepan and placing a heatproof glass bowl over the saucepan, without touching the water. Then, gently heat the chocolate to melt.
- You can also live dangerously and skip the double boiler and just pop the chocolate, stevia and any other ingredients straight into a saucepan and heat over low heat until melted.
You can add in a teaspoon or tablespoon of butter or cream to make the chocolate creamier.
The chocolate can then be enjoyed in one of the below recipes. Or, you could pour it into candy molds and enjoy perfectly sweetened, portion controlled chocolate.
You can also mix vanilla, lemon, orange or another flavouring through your chocolate to create flavoured dark chocolate.
Another option to use 100% dark chocolate is by grating it over or into a sweet treat. I’ve been doing that lately with chocolate mousse. Simply grating a few squares into a creamy chocolate mousse creates a rich pop of chocolate with every mouthful.
