Tiramisu Mousse Recipe – Easy Low Carb, Keto & Sugar Free Chocolate Desserts – with the video.
Tiramisu Mousse Recipe
This tiramisu mousse is a no hassle, chocolatey version of a tiramisu that will satisfy your sweet tooth. You get to enjoy the flavor experience without the carbs!
The great news is that the simple dessert doesn’t include raw eggs or the need to separate egg yolks from egg whites as is often the case with a tiramisu mousse cake dessert.
The Dessert Ingredients
These are the 4 ingredients that you need to make the sweet, chocolate dessert.
Cream – use any cream that you can whisk into thickened, whipped cream that may be called double cream, heavy cream or heavy whipping cream, depending where you are in the world.
Stevia – use stevia, powdered sugar or your sweetener of choice to sweeten the dessert. I find that 2 tablespoons is more than sweet enough for me, you may prefer more or less stevia, depending on your tastes.
Mascarpone – the quintessential tiramisu ingredient – mascarpone cheese is an Italian cheese that brings a luxurious creaminess to the mousse. (Here are some ideas for what to do with leftover mascarpone.)
Dark Chocolate – use 85% or 90% dark chocolate to keep the dessert low carb and keto friendly, while satisfying your sweet cravings. I find that only 1 to 2 rows of chocolate are needed when you’re grating it like in this dessert.
You could swap some of the chocolate for white chocolate or your chocolate or choice, if you’re not following a low carb diet.
More Ingredient Ideas – you can flavor your dessert by whisking through a half to a teaspoon of your choice from instant coffee or coffee syrup for coffee flavor. Or sieving over unsweetened cocoa powder for added chocolate flavor.
You could serve the dessert for a special occasion dinner and offer lady fingers for those who aren’t following keto to enjoy the treat as a deconstructed tiramisu.
