Easy Breakfast Burritos Recipe
This easy breakfast burritos recipe is a budget friendly meal enjoy on busy mornings and can be adapted to your tastes and dietary requirements.
You can even meal prep the wraps ahead of time, allow them to cool, wrap them in parchment paper, plastic wrap or pop them in an airtight container in the fridge to then quickly reheat on the stove or in the microwave for your most important meal of the day.
The easy recipe also freezes well, just pop into a freezer bag and remember to label and date your freezer meals to safely enjoy your frozen breakfast burritos at a later date on the stove, microwave or in a toaster oven.
The 3 Healthy Ingredients
In this instance I used only 3 simple Ingredients to create the perfect breakfast burrito –
Wraps – I keep a look out for when the ones we like are on sale and buy heaps of them to keep in the pantry for when we want burritos. (Or other meals with wraps!)
You can you regular flour tortillas or easily make gluten free, low carb or keto diet friendly breakfast burritos by buying diet appropriate wraps which are easy to come by these days. (Here are some options on Amazon.)
Eggs – you can whisk just eggs or add in cream or milk, salt, pepper or any other seasoning you usually include in scrambled eggs.
For the eggs you could of course swap scrambled eggs for already hard boiled eggs that you simply peel and slice for an almost instant breakfast. Or you could make an omelette or fried eggs that you pop into the burritos instead.
Grated Cheese – I just used one type of grated cheese, but you could swap in your favorite cheese or include a combination of cheese options in the cheese burritos such as cheddar cheese, mozarella cheese or parmesan cheese.
The whole amazing breakfast comes together in just 1-2 minutes, depending on the fillings you choose. For best results, just be careful not to overfill the wraps so that they are easy to fold over and make into the perfect burritos.
Breakfast Burrito Ideas
There are loads of other ingredients you can include to create your own best breakfast burritos.

- Avocado
- Feta
- Fried Mushrooms
- Fried Onions
- Fried breakfast potatoes or sweet potatoes

- Mayo
- Lemon/Lime – zest or juice
- Black Beans
- Lentils
- Chickpeas
- Tuna
- Smoked Salmon
- Leftover chicken/meat or breakfast sausage
- Chopped hash browns or tater tots

- Salt, pepper, garlic powder or any other seasonings
As you can see from the above ingredient ideas, you can make a selection of easy breakfasts whether that’s a vegetarian breakfast burrito or a meaty one.
Make-ahead breakfast burritos are a great way to enjoy a healthy breakfast and complete meal, especially on a busy morning.
Easy Breakfast Burritos Recipe
- Wraps/Tortillas
- Eggs
- Grated Cheese
- Heat a frying pan or large skillet over medium-high heat and add cooking spray, oil or butter.
- When the frying pan is hot, heat the wraps or tortillas for 30 seconds to a minute a side, or until heated through.
- Move each warm tortilla to a plate.
- In a small bowl, whisk 2 to 3 eggs per person, along with cream, milk, salt or pepper to taste. (Depending on how you like your scrambled eggs.)
- Add more oil or butter to the frying pan and cook the scrambled egg mixture until done to your liking.
- Fill the center of each tortilla with the scrambled eggs and top with grated cheese and your favorite breakfast burrito fillings of choice.
- Roll the breakfast wrap and enjoy.
