Lemon Mousse Recipe - Easy no bake 4 ingredient cream cheese desserts

Lemon Mousse Recipe

This easy lemon mousse recipe tastes like a sweet cheesecake, yet takes very little effort to prepare and needs only 4 simple ingredients. (And requires no baking!) Best of all, it always receives rave reviews from all who sample the bright lemon flavor and savor the fluffy texture.

This is such a budget friendly dessert to prepare, especially if you have a lemon tree, know someone who has a fresh fruit tree or if you can find fresh lemons on sale at grocery stores.

You can use a half or whole lemon in the mousse, it’s up to you how much to use in your dessert. Balance the lemon/sweetness in the lemon mixture to your tastes.

Whisking lemon zest into the whipped cream

We like ours with a strong lemon flavor, so I tend to use the zest and juice from a whole lemon and 2 tablespoons of sugar. I’d suggest adding 2 to 4 tablespoons of sugar, have a taste and then add more to taste.

If you’d like the perfect lemon mousse to be sugar free, for any reason, you can use stevia or your sweetener of choice instead of sugar.

Use whatever cream you like in the fluffy lemon mousse, as long as you’re able to whip the ingredient into thickened whipped cream. That may be called heavy cream, double cream or whipping cream, depending where you’re from.

You can enjoy the no bake dessert as is, or create a fancy dessert that’s topped with chopped nuts, crushed biscuits such as graham crackers or shortbread cookies, mint leaves or fresh berries such as fresh raspberries for more of an authentic cheesecake dessert experience.
