Chocolate Overnight Oats Recipe – How to make a decadent easy and healthy overnight oat breakfast food bowl with milk & yogurt – Cheap Breakfast Recipes.
Chocolate Overnight Oats Recipe
This chocolate overnight oats recipe makes an easy make ahead budget friendly breakfast that’s full of healthy fats, whole grain goodness and chocolate flavor.
To be honest though, lately I’ve been making this for my kids as a no fuss dinner. With being home so much because of the craziness going on in the world right now, our meals have been all over the place.
We tend to have our main meal for lunch and something light like this chocolate oats or my parsnip bread for dinner.
This makes the perfect, hearty, wholesome bowl full to meal prep, no matter the time of day.
You can adapt the recipe to your own tastes. Add in as much honey as you like, depending on how sweet you’d like your bowl full to be and on the sweetness of the yogurt you use.
Speaking of yogurt, you can use a healthy option like Greek yogurt or even a non-dairy yogurt like coconut yogurt to make the great recipe dairy free.
For the milk, you can include any type of milk you like such as whole milk, skim milk, a non-dairy milk such as unsweetened almond milk or even chocolate milk to create a delicious recipe with extra creaminess that will delight any chocolate lover.
This recipe makes enough for one bowl full, I tend to just get out all of the bowls and measure out the ingredients one by one, storing them each individually in the fridge.
Also, each member of the family has a different sweetness tolerance, so I can add more or less honey, depending on who the bowl is for and then they can also put in their own added sweetener if they’d like.
There are lots of variations to the easy, quick oats breakfast – a great addition would be to mix a spoonful of nut butter or peanut butter through your bowl full to create chocolate peanut butter overnight oats.
Or, for another chocolate variation – mix through chocolate chips for a double chocolate overnight oats breakfast recipe to satisfy ultimate chocolate cravings.
The best part is that you can make a big, whole batch of the easy breakfast, portion it out into individual glass jars or airtight containers to then enjoy through the chocolate oatmeal through the whole week as the perfect breakfast.
