These high protein snacks will help you meet you daily protein goals while you’re travelling, whether that’s on a plane, train or road trip.
All of the protein-rich foods are easy to find at local grocery stores, so you can grab and enjoy the foods instantly or take along a snack box or cooler with some of the foods to enjoy as nutritious snacks. (For more inspiration, here are 7 low carb high protein lunch ideas.)
Hard-Boiled Eggs
You can make hard boiled eggs to take as a grab and go snack or you may find already hard boiled eggs from supermarkets that you can instantly enjoy as a protein rich snack.
Peanut Butter or Almond Butter
Make peanut butter, almond butter or another nut butter sandwich or take along a portion to snack on with other healthy foods such as apple slices.
Cheese
There are plenty of cheese options that you can enjoy on the road, all of which are high in grams of protein.
Just be sure to pack along a cooler and consume the cheese as a priority once out of the fridge.
Here are some of my favorite cheeses:
- Cheddar cheese
- String cheese
- Cheese sticks
- Cottage cheese
- Cheese crisps
Greek Yogurt
As with cheese, take along a cooler or buy the yogurt while you’re on the go to enjoy immediately as is or with a portion of fresh fruit for a nutritionally balanced snack.
