Best Desserts In Dublin
These best desserts in Dublin are all of my go to sweet treats that I seek out whenever I visit the city centre.
In the 7 years that I’ve lived in Ireland, the choice of desserts has grown astronomically, so if you’re visiting the city yourself – expect to find sweets to satisfy any craving.
1. Dolce Sicily

I’ve had a long love affair with Dolce Sicily. Their thick hot chocolate is probably the richest in Dublin and their delicate pastries, including their incredible Canoli, always leave me wanting more.
My most recent obsession is their Pistachio Tiramisu which is a thing of pure beauty and consists of layers of lady finger biscuits, cocoa syrup and simply heavenly pistachio mascarpone cream – the perfect indulgent treat to satisfy your sweet tooth.
2. Hansel & Gretel Bakery and Patisserie

Conveniently located a short walk from popular sights like Trinity College and The National Gallery of Ireland, Hansel & Gretel is a true hidden gem that’s well worth the visit.
The window display first drew me in and their croissants, breads and sweet treats are each more inviting than the next.
It’s carb heaven and you can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. Over the years I’ve sampled their croissants which are light, flaky and buttery perfection, plus I’ve picked up a couple of their sweet slices and bread too – all of which is some of the best treats you’ll find in the city.
3. Fable Bakery

Located on Dawson Street, right in the heart of Dublin, you’ll find Fable Bakery – where you’ll be met with all kinds of unique pastries to tempt your taste buds with.
I’ve sampled a number of incredible pastries and treats there since they opened, my favorites being their dark chocolate and sea salt cookies and cinnamon buns.
4. Avoca Cafe

An unexpected delight of a find is the Avoca Cafe which is located within their store on Suffolk Street in Dublin.
Head to their casual cafe for a choice of mouth watering cakes and sweet treats. I adore their scones and their lemon cake.
5. Kilkenny Design – Best Desserts In Dublin

Almost every time I’m in Dublin, I pop into Kilkenny Design purely to see what cakes they have on offer, as they are always rotating through an incredible selection, all at affordable prices. There’s also great food on offer in their cafe, which is always busy.
There’s usually at least one gluten free and vegan option, making it the perfect spot to head to be able to meet your dietary requirements while enjoying a treat in the city.
I’ve enjoyed their scones, cheesecake, lemon cake and apple tart over the years, each perfectly baked and happily devoured.
6. Lisboa Pastelaria

I’ve always adored creamy, rich Pasteis De Natas – Portuguese egg custard tarts. Thankfully, they are easy to find in Dublin and Lisboa Pastelaria make the best in the city – creamy, dreamy custard housed in the perfect buttery pastry.
7. Murphy’s Ice Cream

For uniquely Irish flavors of ice cream, head to Murphy’s Ice Cream for creamy treats that are made with real ingredients sourced locally in Ireland.
Popular flavors on their amazing menu include Dingle Sea Salt, Irish Brown Bread and smooth chocolate ice cream, all made with the creamiest Irish dairy you’ll ever experience.
8. Spilt Milk

Spilt Milk went viral on social media for there Hot Chocolate Marshmallow Bombs which are as incredibly rich, sweet and indulgent as they look! It’s the perfect wintery treat – a warming hot chocolate topped with the perfect gooey, scorched marshmallow.
They also serve up handcrafted Ice cream and Acai Bowls right in Dublin City Centre.
9. Donuts In Dublin

There’s a choice of designer donut (or doughnuts) all across the city. I’m always intrigued by the flavors, from plain and simple sugared donuts, every chocolate combo imaginable to the above pictured Smores donuts at The Rolling Donut.
10. Irish Pub Desserts In Dublin

Head inside any of the Irish pubs in Dublin and you’ll likely find a choice of traditional Irish desserts, or desserts with an Irish spin.
My favourites include Baileys Cheesecake, Bread & Butter Pudding, Irish Apple Pie or a fruit crumble.
