Rainbow Lunch Box

Rainbow-Lunch-Box-For-Kids

Today I sent the kids off to kinder with Rainbow Lunch Boxes. I like to include a rainbow of fruit and vegetables so they consume an array of nourishing nutrients.

We are moving from Winter into Spring here in Melbourne and the seasonal produce at the moment has been the year round staples of apples and carrots with a few extras thrown in, depending on exactly what’s been available at our local Farmers Market.

Included in this rainbow lunch box are:

RED – Apples

ORANGE – Carrots

YELLOW – Frozen Corn (I pack it frozen and it’s thawed by lunch time)

GREEN – Kiwi Pieces

BLUE/PURPLE (ish) – Sultanas was the blue/purple stand in in today’s lunch box. The only grapes available locally right now have been shipped in from out of Australia, and my freezer is full of frozen organic raspberries, but no blueberries, so I improvised with the purple offering, I hope you’ll understand!

Also included are Avocado Sandwiches, which is an extra green ingredient.

The kids have been enjoying similar lunch box contents for a while now and we look forward to summer fruits coming into season soon for some extra fruity variety!

What fruits have you been enjoying lately?
