Fruity Chia Pudding (Made using an unlikely ingredient…)

Fruity Chia Pudding Recipe

I’ve become a teeny bit obsessed with making a Chia Pudding of some description most days. I love experimenting with this nutritious ingredient and have made all sorts of interesting combinations. Using different dairy free milks, yoghurts, a rainbow of sliced fresh fruit and even some cacao or maca mixed in for extra nourishment.

I have a couple of trips coming up and I’ve been trying to work out how I can continue my Chia Pudding experimentation while in hotels and away from the comforts of home. (And a kitchen!)

Then I came across a way to enjoy Chia Pudding without the need for any fancy kitchen utensils, sharp knives or access to a supermarket… I know it’s a little crazy but I’ve been making Fruity Chia Puddings using 2 Tablespoons of Chia Seeds and One Pouch of Organic Fruity Baby Food Puree!!!

You may think it’s a tad strange, but I think it’s the perfect solution to be able to enjoy a Fruity Chia Pudding when you’re on the road and just can’t access a kitchen or even fresh fruit.

I have experimented with different baby food purees and found a couple of simple ones with just apple, banana and mango that are just perfect mixed with chia seeds and allowed a couple of hours to gel in the fridge.

You can top your Chia Pudding with fresh fruit, if you have access to some and also bring along some other favourite toppings such as coconut chips. (A favourite of mine!)

You don’t HAVE to add any fruit or additional toppings. If you want to enjoy the chia seeds and the fruity accompaniment, then that’s perfectly delicious too.

Quick side note – check on liquid volume restrictions if traveling with baby food pouches in your hand luggage, as all the pouches I have found so far are over the 100ml limit.

I’m now all sorted to stay nourished with Chia Puddings on my upcoming trips.

Tell me – Are you going to give it a try?
