When it comes to putting together a big low carb and Ketogenic diet friendly breakfast fry up, usually a meaty option is included. Well, with Halloumi you get all the salty, savouryness and without the meat.

So, if you’re feeling like a big breakfast fry up but not having meat for breakfast for one reason or another, then consider a Halloumi Breakfast Fry Up.

I start by gathering my ingredients together. Washing and chopping my vegetables of choice as well as the Halloumi Cheese.

When it comes to actually cooking up your Halloumi Cheese breakfast, start by melting butter in a frying pan and browning the Halloumi on all sides.

Once browned to your liking, remove the Halloumi, add more butter to the frying pan and cook your vegetables of choice. I went with spinach and chopped tomatoes, to cut through the richness and saltiness of the Halloumi.

Cook the vegetables to your liking and finally fry a couple of eggs. And – Your Halloumi Breakfast Fry Up is done!

Halloumi Breakfast Fry Up

  • Chopped Halloumi Cheese
  • Spinach
  • Tomatoes
  • Eggs
  • Butter or Coconut Oil, for frying
  1. Heat butter or coconut oil in a frying pan.
  2. When hot, add the chopped Halloumi Cheese.
  3. Cook, turning often, until cooked on all sides.
  4. When the Halloumi has cooked, remove to a plate, add more butter or coconut oil to the pan and cook the vegetables until browned and softened.
  5. Finally, remove the vegetables, add more butter or coconut oil and cook the eggs until done to your liking.
  6. Enjoy your Halloumi Breakfast Fry Up.
