Goat Cheese Cheesecake

This goat cheese cheesecake makes a light low carb dessert that’s wonderfully simple to prepare.

All you do is pop all of the ingredients into a bowl, whisk to a delicious cheesecake batter and bake in a cheesecake pan until golden.

Cheesecake with a slice taken out

I was curious to see if you can adapt a Basque Burnt Cheesecake by removing the cream cheese and substituting in goats cheese instead.

The result is a smooth, creamy, dreamy cheesecake that has the subtle savory element from the goats cheese to beautifully balance the richness of the goat cheese.

The 5 Ingredients You’ll Need

This dessert has only 5 simple ingredients:

Goat Cheese – a mild fresh goat cheese is the ingredient that brings lovely creaminess to the dessert, be sure to use neutral flavored goat cheese, rather than one infused with garlic or onion in the dessert.

5 Ingredient dessert ingredients

Stevia – Use 1/3 to 1/2 a cup of stevia, or your sweetener or choice, depending on how sweet you’d like your cheesecake to be.

Vanilla Extract – for a rich vanilla flavor. If you’d like to create a lemon flavored cheesecake, then add in the lemon zest and fresh lemon juice from half to a whole lemon to the batter.

Ingredients together in a bowl

Eggs – large eggs are used in the recipe, they perform best at room temperature, so just be sure to take them out of the fridge for a few hours before they are needed.

The eggs are blended whole into the goat cheese mixture, so you don’t need to fiddle with separating and whisking the egg whites and egg yolks.

Creme Fraiche – In this instance I’ve used creme fraiche, which is a creamy sour cream alternative that works beautifully in this cheesecake. If you can’t get hold of it, then feel free to use sour cream instead or even use heavy cream for a rich, creamy dessert.

You’ll notice that the cheesecake has no crust, so you don’t have to fiddle with breaking down graham crackers and melted butter to create a graham cracker crust. Simply pour the batter into the bottom of the pan, bake and enjoy!

How To Make Goats Cheese Cheesecake

Whisking ingredients together for Goat Cheese Cheesecake

This goat cheesecake dessert is super simple to make. Start by getting the oven preheating to 180C/350F and line a 9 inch round cake pan or baking tin with well greased parchment paper.

Then, it’s just a matter of popping all of the ingredients into a medium bowl and whisking them together with an electric mixer or bowl of a stand mixer until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl to ensure everything is well blended.

Goat cheese cheesecake ready for the oven

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until golden and cooked through. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack, then store and enjoy from the fridge.

You can enjoy the cheesecake as it is, topped with whipped cream or as I enjoy mine – a generous slice topped with homemade chia jam.

The dessert is perfect to make to have waiting in the fridge for you for when sweet cravings strike or serve as an elegant dessert at a dinner party.
