Hot Chocolate Truffles Recipe – How to make hot chocolate truffle bombs – low carb, keto and sugar free dessert treat – with the video.
Hot Chocolate Truffles Recipe
These hot chocolate truffles make a decadent, warming sweet treat that’s easy to make and a delight to enjoy.
I’ve been seeing hot chocolate bombs (chocolate spheres filled with marshmallows, sugar and other sweets) all over social media.
This is my attempt at a low carb friendly version. It’s as easy as making sugar free homemade truffles which you then melt into warm milk to create a unique hot chocolate experience.
To make the truffles, simply heat half a cup of cream and then pour the warmed cream over a bowl full of chopped chocolate.
You can use whatever low carb, keto friendly chocolate you usually include in your diet. Add in stevia or any other sweetener you like to sweeten your truffles.
You can also flavor your truffles with peppermint extract, vanilla, coffee, caramel flavoring or whatever extract you’d like.
Mix the truffle mixture until you have a pool of chocolate, allow it to cool and the pop into the fridge until it hardens enough to roll into truffles.
Depending on the size of truffles you’d like to make, roll a teaspoon to a tablespoon per truffle.
You can roll the truffles in cocoa powder, grated chocolate or even melted chocolate too, if you’d like.
To make the hot chocolate, heat a mug of low carb milk (like almond milk) or water in the microwave or on the stove top.
Then, pop a truffle (or two) into a mug and pour over the heated milk or water.
Stir well to help the hot chocolate truffles gently melt and then enjoy.
