I adore the bright purple color that blueberries bring to the incredible blueberry smoothie. You can feel free to use fresh blueberries on hot summer days when they are in season or use frozen blueberries to enjoy the sweet berry flavor all year around.
In the recipe, I’ve suggested sweetness to taste. Honey goes best in this particular recipe, but you can add maple syrup, or any added sugar or sweeteners you’d like.
Have a quick taste before pouring the smoothie out and add in a teaspoon or more of honey, if you’d like a sweeter smoothie. It really depends on the sweetness of your blueberries whether you add any or how much for the perfectly sweet smoothie for you.
You can use any milk you’d like in the easy blueberry smoothie recipe choose from whole milk for a dairy smoothie or non-dairy milk such as unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk or oat milk to make your blueberry smoothie vegan and dairy free friendly.
This easy recipe can be put together cheaply if you make it when berries are in season and budget friendly, along with keeping an eye out for when lemons are cheap too.
