Kombucha Ice Cream Float Recipe – An easy drink that can be made Low Carb & Keto Diet friendly with a video tutorial and loads of ideas for fun variations.
Kombucha Ice Cream Float Recipe
Growing up, in the 80’s, we had a SodaStream and would make all kinds of weird and wonderful Ice Cream float combinations. I hadn’t had an ice cream float in ages and since I don’t drink regular soda of any kind, I went for the fizzy drink I adore – Kombucha.
In the past I’ve made Kombucha from stratch. But, since moving, I haven’t gotten back into the Kombucha making habit and have been buying bottles instead. Use whichever Kombucha you usually enjoy and add other ingredients to match.
My flavour of choice is usually orange and lemon so I went for a plain vanilla “ice cream”. You can use whatever ice cream you want, whether it’s store bought or home made. For variations you can use a ginger flavoured Kombucha for a ginger beer experience or berry flavoured and add fresh berries to your Kombucha Ice Cream Float. The variations are endless!
In Ireland we get tubs of ready whipped cream that I popped into the freezer for an hour so my “ice cream” was pure cream rather than a store bought ice cream loaded with sugars and other carby ingredients. You can whip up whipping cream until smooth and pop into for the freezer to thicken, if you can’t get hold of ready whipped cream.
