You can use your cheese of choice in the great recipe, choose from cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese or include a few cheeses for a super cheesy casserole with extra flavor. You can also swap the cream or sour cream in the creamy sauce for mayo or cream cheese if you like.
This recipe comes together really quickly – you simply chop the broccoli into bit sized pieces and then mix the broccoli florets together with the cream, sour cream and cheese.
I like to keep a third of a cup handy and just re-fill it with each ingredient as I go. Then, just top your casserole with as much grated cheese as you’d like and bake until golden.
You can of course mix through salt, black pepper and any other seasoning you like including oregano, Italian seasoning or garlic powder or add in extra veggies like chopped mushrooms or red bell pepper.
This makes such as easy, budget friendly meal or side dish that the whole family will enjoy. You can serve as a complete meal with a green salad to help balance the richness of the comfort food dish.
