I stumbled on this Egg Roll In A Bowl dish while searching for inspiration on pinterest one day and found so many yummy variations.

I came up with my own combination of low carb, keto friendly fresh ingredients that we love and that’s what I’m sharing with you today.

The low-carb meal is the perfect quick easy weeknight dinner to prepare, especially on busy weeknights and is always a hit with the whole family.

If you’ve never made egg roll in a bowl before, then you’re in for a real treat when you try the great recipe for the first time – it’s sure to become a new favorite and added to your weekly menu plan.

All of the flavors of an easy egg roll are cooked up in one large skillet and then serving by the comforting bowl full, rather than in an egg roll wrapper. So, you get all of the flavors of a traditional egg roll, but as a healthier alternative without the carbs.

Unstuffed Egg Roll Recipe Ingredients

For my healthy version of Unstuffed Egg Roll In A Bowl that’s low in net carbs, I’ve gone with simple flavours, though you can adapt the recipe to your taste and dietary requirements with the following variations of simple ingredients that are easy to find at a grocery store:

  • Fresh Ginger of ground ginger
  • Garlic powder
  • Coriander/Cilantro
  • Carrot
  • Bell Pepper
  • Water chestnuts
  • Bean sprouts
  • Finely chopped cauliflower or cauliflower rice
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Spicy mayo, Sriracha sauce or Duck sauce

You can also feel free to swap the ground beef mince in the easy recipe for ground pork mince, ground chicken mince or ground turkey mince instead.

If you’re wanting to make the easy keto recipe plant based then swap the ground meat for a vegetarian option such as soy mince or even something like a bag of coleslaw mix or broccoli slaw mix to give the egg roll recipe a healthy makeover without meat.

How To Make The Easy Recipe

To make the healthy dinner that has a ton of flavor, start by browning the ground beef mince, garlic. salt and pepper in sesame oil in a large frying pan.

Once browned, add in the cabbage that’s been chopped to small pieces, along with tamari or soy sauce. Cook until the keto egg roll dish has reduced down, then serve the easy dinner recipe, topped with green onions if you like.

We also love leftover egg roll as an easy grab and go lunch to include in our meal plan for the week. So, I’ll often make extra of the low carb recipe and then pop leftovers into meal prep containers to enjoy the low carb egg roll for a second time in the same week.

Egg Roll In A Bowl Recipe

  • 2 Tablespoons Sesame Oil (Or Coconut Oil for AIP)
  • 500g/1.1lbs Beef Mince
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste (Omit Pepper for AIP)
  • 4 Cloves of Fresh Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 a Small Head of Cabbage, finely sliced
  • 1/4 Cup Tamari or Soy Sauce (Or Coconut Aminos for AIP)
  • 2-3 Spring Onions or Green Onions, Chopped
  1. Heat the sesame oil in a large frying pan over medium heat to high heat.
  2. When hot add the beef mince, salt & pepper to taste and minced garlic.
  3. Stir to combine and cook until the mince has browned, adding in more sesame oil, coconut oil or olive oil if needed.
  4. Once the mince has browned, add the cabbage and tamari to the cooked meat.
  5. Stir to combine and cook until the cabbage has softened and cooked through.
  6. Once cooked to your liking, stir through the spring onions and serve immediately, storing any cooled leftovers in an airtight container and enjoying within a couple of days.

Ingredients
