This breakfast came about because I wanted to enjoy a big breakfast using up produce that needed to be used up before going away.

So, I put them all together in a Keto Tuna Breakfast Scramble. The results? Comforting deliciousness and a dish I’ll be recreating in future. Whether I have produce needing to be used or not!

Can I Eat Tuna On The Keto Diet?

You may be wondering about whether tuna is Keto Diet friendly. And, you’ll be thrilled to know that it is permissible to eat on the low carb, Ketogenic Diet. In fact I’ve often enjoyed a tin of tuna to help meet my protein macros as it’s almost pure protein with little to no carbs.

Be sure to check each tin of tuna carefully, as carbs and sugars can often be hidden in the oils, brines and flavours.

There are loads of easy keto friendly dishes that include tuna. Try this tuna salad or tuna casserole for starters.

Keto Breakfast Scramble Variations

Ingredients for Keto Tuna Breakfast Scramble

You can adapt this Keto Breakfast Scramble by mixing and matching the following ingredients.

  • Cheese – use any cheese variation you like. For example – mozzarella, cheddar, feta, brie, blue cheese, parmesan
  • Vegetables – include the low carb vegetables you have to hand. For example – mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, peppers, onion, garlic, green beans, asparagus
  • Protein – you are already enjoying protein with your eggs, but you can include an extra protein element. Such as – sausages, leftover roast chicken, beef or lamb, bacon, salmon.
  • Creams – you can include cream, sour cream, mascarpone.

Keto Tuna Breakfast Scramble Recipe

  • 5 Eggs
  • 2-3 Tablespoons Cream
  • 8 Small Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 Small Tin of Tuna, drained
  • 2 Cups Spinach
  • 1 Cup of Grated Cheese
  • Butter, for frying
  1. In a bowl, whisk the eggs together with the cream.
  2. Heat butter in a frying pan.
  3. When hot, add the chopped tomatoes.
  4. Once the tomatoes have started to soften, add the drained tin of tuna.
  5. Heat through the tuna and then add the whisked egg mixture.
  6. Once the eggs have half cooked, add the spinach and cheese.
  7. Scramble and cook until done to your liking.

Serves 2
