Healthy Berry Breakfast Parfait Recipe
This berry breakfast parfait is perfect for warmer mornings, when you feel like a chilled and easy to make breakfast.
There are really so many delicious ways to enjoy a healthy parfait for breakfast which is actually as tasty as a dessert to start the day.
Healthy Parfait Ideas
Here are some ideas of ingredients to include in your parfait:
Yogurt – you can include whatever yogurt you usually enjoy as part of your diet. If you’re wanting a low carb parfait, then use a Greek, Natural or other yogurt with as low carb count as possible.
If a paleo, dairy free or vegan breakfast parfait is what you’re after, then include coconut or another dairy free yogurt alternative.
You can use a flavoured yogurt if you like, although I prefer a good quality vanilla yogurt, so that all the flavour comes from the fruit and jam.
Berries – choose to include only one berry variety or include as many as you like. I went for raspberries and blueberries. You can use fresh or frozen berries, which may need to thaw a little before use.
Jam – this is an optional extra, I like to include a few teaspoons of my homemade strawberry chia jam. (Here’s the easy 3 ingredient recipe.)
Nutritional Extras – you can also add a sprinkling of chia seeds, nuts, granola or include any other fruit you like in your parfait.
Berry Breakfast Parfait Recipe
- Strawberry Jam
- Vanilla Yogurt
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
- In a glass or jar, place a few teaspoons of jam on the bottom.
- Top with a few teaspoons of yogurt and a handful of blueberries.
- Finish with a final few teaspoons of yogurt and top with raspberries and any other optional toppings of choice.
- Enjoy immediately or store in the fridge for a few hours before consuming.
This berry breakfast parfait is always a hit with the whole family and I see myself constructing plenty parfaits through the summer months.
