Low Carb Yogurt Smoothie Recipe

This surprisingly simple smoothie is actually really refreshing and full of flavor despite having only 3 ingredients.

The berries and yogurt balance perfectly to create a sweet and sour smoothie experience.

I’ve mentioned in past smoothie recipes that I just adore my Nutribullet. I use it every few days to make smoothies, pesto or other keto friendly foods. It’s probably my most used kitchen gadget!

Keto Smoothie Ingredients

Ingredients for low carb keto friendly smoothies

In this instance, these are the keto friendly ingredients I’ve included in the smoothie

Coconut Milk – I’ve gone for canned coconut milk which is low carb, high fat and wonderfully rich. I find that a half a cup of coconut milk plus a quarter of a cup of water is the perfect milk option for this smoothie.

Another alternative is to just use 3 quarters of a cup of almond milk or your low carb milk of choice.

Yogurt – you’ll find that plain, natural or Greek yogurt are the lowest carb yogurt options. I used an organic whole milk natural yogurt that I found at ALDI that has 5.7g sugars per 100g. So, a quarter of a cup has just 3.5 grams of sugars.

The quarter of a cup of yogurt that’s included in the smoothie won’t blow your macros for the day, yet will bring enjoy sourness and nutrition to the smoothie.

Raspberries – you can use fresh or frozen raspberries or any berry you like. I used frozen raspberries in this instance and the quarter of a cup brought sweetness and a frosty element to the smoothie.

Sweetness – I’ve omitted any sweetness from this smoothie as I found the berries to be sweet enough. But, you can feel free to add a teaspoon (or more) or stevia or your sweetener of choice, to taste.

Protein Powder – if you’d like to turn your smoothie into a meal then simply add a half a scoop to a scoop of low carb protein powder (like this one).

Other optional ingredients – you can also add nuts, seeds, chia seeds, cream or another other keto friendly ingredient to your smoothie.
