ALDI is a great option for finding keto diet friendly products at great prices, especially when you’re grocery shopping on a budget.

In this blog post I’ll be sharing a complete ALDI Keto List of must have low carb foods that you can keep an eye out for the next time you’re at the budget supermarket. 

It’s really easy to put together a whole week of strict keto meals from items you’ll find at ALDI stores. In fact I’ve shared a 7 Day Keto ALDI Meal Plan which will give you plenty of meal inspiration.

Healthy Keto Fats at ALDI

When you’re on a low-carb diet like the keto diet, the majority of your meals will comprise of healthy fats,  which are some of the best keto foods. (Here are heaps of keto tips for beginners.) 

These are healthy fats that are low in g net carbs to look out for when you’re at ALDI: 

  • Coconut Oil
  • Coconut Milk
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Butter
  • Mayonnaise (read the nutrition labels for hidden sugars/carbs)
  • Avocado Oil 

Low Carb Vegetables at ALDI

You can find most of the fresh produce you need that’s low-carb lifestyle approved at ALDI grocery stores, and at super low prices. 

At my local store they have weekly reductions where you’ll find a weekly rotating selection of 6 items for 49 cents.

On the week I visited I found broccoli, limes and butternut squash (pumpkin) all on offer for 49 cents for the week. 

There’s a wide choice of fresh, frozen and canned fruit and vegetables. Just always read the nutritional panel of any packaged food to make sure sugars or carbs aren’t added. 

Don’t overlook the frozen vegetables. For example, I keep frozen broccoli on hand as a good option for an extra vegetable portion for through the week or for when needed.

Here are fruit and vegetables to put onto your ALDI Keto Shopping List that you can enjoy in heaps of low carb recipes: 

  • Spinach
  • Kale & other leafy greens
  • Lettuce
  • Celery
  • Mushrooms

  • Brussels Sprouts

On Keto, you’re limited with your fruit choices. You’re allowed berries and citrus in the way of fruit. And, only about a handful a day of fruit to keep your daily carb count down.

Here’s the list of fruit to look out for: 

  • Lemon
  • Lime

  • Blueberries 
  • Blackberries

My ALDI has a selection of fresh and frozen berries that I keep in my freezer for smoothies and sweet treats. 

Keto Meat, Chicken, Fish & Seafood At ALDI

You can get most of your protein needs on a budget at ALDI. And, Keto doesn’t have to be complicated. You’ll find that a low carb ketogenic diet includes a moderate protein intake, similar to that of a standard diet.

There are heaps of easy meals that you can make in less time than it would take to order a take away. (Here are 25 Keto Dinners with all of the keto recipes ready in under 30 minutes!)

Here are some ideas of keto options to put on your shopping list: 

  • Beef – mince, steak, diced, corned beef, bone broth
  • Lamb – mince, chops, leg
  • Chicken – whole, legs, breasts, thighs, wings, diced, mince and chicken sausages
  • Turkey – mince, burgers, diced
  • Bacon (check ingredients for sugars)
  • Sausages (also check ingredients carefully!) 
  • Salami, pepperoni, meat sticks – as above – check ingredients. 
  • Wild-Caught Salmon – such as fresh Atlantic salmon, smoked salmon, salmon fillets or canned salmon
  • Tuna – canned or tuna steaks
  • Canned – mackerel or sardines

Dairy & Eggs Options at ALDI

There’s a HUGE choice of keto diet friendly dairy that you’ll find at the best price at your local ALDI store.

And, depending on your local ALDI there may be choice of different eggs and even duck eggs too. 

Here’s the dairy options that are my top picks for keto dieters to look out for at local stores that are naturally low in grams of carbs, and high in healthy fats and grams of protein: 

  • Butter
  • Cream – pouring, heavy, whipping 
  • Grated Cheese
  • Wedge of cheese 
  • Mascarpone
  • Brie
  • Feta Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Ricotta Cheese
  • Cream Cheese
  • Sour Cream
  • Aldi keto ice cream in different flavors
Low Carb yogurt at ALDI

Regarding yogurt, have a look for plain, natural or Greek yogurt. Check the nutrition labels for a whole milk option without added sugar.

At my ALDI I found the above yogurt to be best. The only ingredient listed on the nutrition label is “Organic Natural Yogurt (Milk)”.

And, per 100g there are 5.7g of sugars. I tend to only have a quarter or a half of a serving size to get the yogurt benefits with very little carbs added to my macros for the day.

There’s a range of tea, coffee and cocoa powder for making hot chocolates with that you can enjoy on a keto lifestyle that you’ll find at better prices at ALDI.

There are loads of options of both sweet and savoury low-carb snack options at ALDI to grab for a quick snack:

  • 85% Dark Chocolate
  • Almond Milk
  • Nuts – almonds, cashews, almonds, walnuts, macadamia nuts, Brazil, pine nuts, peanuts
  • Ground Almonds or Almond Flour
  • Almond Butter
  • Peanut Butter
  • Seeds – chia seeds, sesame, sunflower, pumpkin 
  • Cheese crisps (the perfect keto snack!) 
  • Pork Rinds
  • Beef jerky or biltong
  • Aldi Keto Bread such as zero carb bread
  • Coconut flour – for making sweet treats like my keto chocolate cheesecake brownies.
  • Olives
  • Shredded coconut

As you can tell, it’s easy to stock your fridge, pantry and whole kitchen with the above ALDI Keto List. 

I’ve found that everything is just so much cheaper than other supermarkets. ALDI really makes it easy to follow a low carb diet on a budget.
