Honey Glazed Baby Carrots Recipe

These Honey Glazed Baby Carrots are more like a sweet dish than a savory one and they’re sure to tempt even the pickiest of eaters.

If Baby Carrots (also known as Dutch Carrots) are not in season where you are, then chop regular carrots into baby sized carrots so that you can still enjoy this recipe.

If you’d prefer not to pan boil your carrots, you could always steam or regularly boil them until they are just tender and ready to be sautéed in the honey butter.

To speed up the pan frying process, pop a lid over the carrots to help them along to cook quicker.

Honey Carrots

I LOVE using Raw Honey in this recipe, if you’re able to get hold of raw honey it enhances the flavour of this dish unbelievably.

The longer you cook the carrots for the more they will caramelize and the sweeter they will become. As soon as you have a slight colour to them then they will be beautifully cooked, leave them longer for a richer caramel flavour.

You can enjoy these carrots as they are, or try them topped with a handful of crumbled feta. I ADORE the salty/sweet combination and if you’re a salted caramel fan then you’ll love feta topped carrots.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Bunch of Baby Carrots
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Raw Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter

Instructions

  1. Trim the leaves off the carrots and wash them.
  2. Place the trimmed baby carrots into a large frying pan with the water.
  3. Bring up to the boil and simmer until just cooked through. You can speed up the process by placing a lid over the carrots.
  4. Once just cooked add the honey and butter.
  5. Cook, stirring frequently, until golden to your liking.
  6. The longer they cook and the more they caramelize, the sweeter they become.
  7. Once cooked remove to a plate and serve.
