Since recently moving to a plant based diet, I’ve been looking through my own archives for meals I’ve shared that just happen to be accidentally vegan recipes.
Here are ideas for everyday meals that are accidentally vegan or can easily be made vegan with a simple swap or two.

Accidentally Vegan Foods
1. Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge
I shared this fudge only recently and it just so happens to be completely vegan friendly. (As long as you include a vegan friendly chocolate.) If you’ve been longing for chocolate peanut butter cups then this is the perfect sweet treat for you.
2. Paleo Daiquiri Smoothie
To me a daquiri instantly transports me to summer – no matter the weather. So, I came up with a non-alcoholic, paleo version which is also accidentally vegan too.
3. Coconut Milk Whipped Cream
I’ve always enjoyed this dairy free whipped cream and have been experimenting with other uses lately too.
4. Chia Seed Pudding
Chia puddings are easy to adapt to be vegan – simply use your go to milk, yoghurt or cream in place of dairy based ingredients.
5. Minty Chocolate Green Smoothie
This smoothie is as delicious as a dessert yet is wonderfully nutritious and paleo friendly too.
6. Strawberry Milkshake
You can enjoy this strawberry milkshake as a vegan drink by using your go to dairy free milk substitute and coconut milk whipped cream, instead of dairy whipped cream.
7. Broccoli Salad
This broccoli salad includes only vegan products and foods. I always like to keep a jar of vegan pesto in my pantry, to be able to enjoy in multiple dishes, including this easy broccoli salad.
8. Sweet Potato Mash
You can enjoy sweet potato mash as a side or as a meal itself. You can add nutritional yeast or a sprinkling of nuts or seeds for additional nutrition and protein.
9. Maple Roasted Parsnips
Inspired by a Nigella Lawson recipe, these parsnips will convert even those who aren’t a fan of the nutritious food.
10. Raspberry Chia Seed Jam
Chia Jam is the easiest jam to make and there are so many delicious varieties – all vegan friendly.
11. Grain Free Granola
An easy granola recipe that’s grain free, gluten free and paleo approved too. It’s easy to adapt to include your go to nuts and seeds and the perfect way to start the day.
12. Turmeric Smoothie
A sublimely nourishing smoothie that’s rich in super foods, this turmeric smoothie is wonderfully delicious and nutritious.
13. Roasted Radishes
When you roast radishes they are very similar in texture and taste to roasted potatoes, making then a great low carb potato alternative.
14. Warm Winter Salad
During Winter, when you’re wanting a salad then a warm one is perfect, like this warm winter salad – complete with hearty winter vegetables.
15. Paprika Cauliflower
A tasty low carb friendly way to enjoy cauliflower – roasted with paprika. It makes an easy side dish or you could turn it into a main by roasting cubes of tofu along with the cauliflower.
16. Instant Hot Chocolate Mix
Hot chocolate mix is easy to make at home and you can create your own personal mix with the perfect chocolate and sweetness ratio for you. Simply use your go to vegan chocolate, sugar and cocoa powder.
17. Raw Macadamia & Coconut Fudge
There are only a couple of ingredients in this decadent fudge which is surprisingly vegan friendly.
18. Raw Cashew Butter Balls
These cashew butter balls make an easy vegan snack and contain only nutritious ingredients.
19. Gluten Free Apple Crumble
All you have to do is swap the butter in this recipe for vegan butter or coconut oil and this apple crumble can be dairy free, paleo and vegan friendly too.
20. Raw Chocolate Orange Mousse
And finally, this raw chocolate orange mousse is one of the most decadent accidentally vegan recipes. It’s creamy, dreaming and full of nutritious ingredients.
