These healthy summer snacks ideas will keep the whole family nourished on a hot day, and the best part is that little to no effort is required for most of these nutritious snacks.
As soon as the summer break starts, my kids seem to be hungry all day long, so I tend to keep my kitchen well stocked with a whole range of foods that I know they’ll like and that are actually good for them.
Fresh Fruit
Make the most of the summer fruit and snack on a piece of fruit or make fruit salads with fresh strawberries and other summer fruit bounty to enjoy as a quick snack.
You could also enjoy popular fruit treats such as a whole banana or apple slices spread with cream cheese, peanut butter, nut butters or your favorite spread or dip.
Healthy Summer Salad Snacks
Cool down with fresh veggies on a hot summer day simply by snacking on sliced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, celery sticks and baby carrots or making a simple salad such as my easy cucumber salad, creamy corn salad or the above pictured creamy broccoli salad.

We love to snack on different flavors of cheese including cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan cheese and string cheese.
I’ll often put together a summer snack board or snack platter filled with a choice of cheeses and some meats and dips too.
