Keto Diet For Beginners – Quick Start Ketogenic diet tips and tricks for success with following a low carb diet without stress.
Keto Diet For Beginners
You’ve probably heard about the amazing benefits and weight loss results of the Ketogenic Diet and you’re curious to learn more about the Keto way of eating.
Before discovering the Keto Diet I was incredibly frustrated. Frustrated that I had tried pretty much EVERYTHING to lose weight and was unsuccessful at every attempt.
I was fed up with feeling hungry whenever I was on a diet, which inevitably lead to the end of the diet of the week and putting back on whatever I’d lost.
Keto Discovery…
I’ve been following the Keto Diet for a while now and have enjoyed awesome health benefits. I’ve also lost a significant amount of weight and kept it off too.
Best of all, Keto food is AWESOME and I’m NEVER hungry! There’s such a wide range of foods you can enjoy on Keto. And, it doesn’t have to cost the earth either. (Here are keto on a budget tips.)
Calculate Your Macros
To figure out your macro and calorie goals, enter your info into the Keto Calculator.
This will help provide you with an insight into how to create your own personal Keto Diet plan with the ideal macros and calories just for you.
Once you’ve got the hang of the diet and learned about what foods make up the majority of your meals, you may consider following a lazy keto diet.
I’ve shared a blog post about how to follow a lazy keto approach to the diet. Lazy keto is where you follow the diet without counting calories or macros.
How Do You Know You’re In Ketosis?
There’s a blog post going into great detail about the 5 steps I take to get into ketosis fast (within 24 hours) each time I gravitate back to the keto diet. Click here to read about how to get into ketosis.
It is possible to measure your breath, urine or blood for ketones to help you determine whether you’re in Ketosis or not.
Personally, I find that the least invasive, and most cost efficient method is by using Ketone Strips. I’ve used them myself from time to time to check whether I’m still in Ketosis if I don’t feel quite right. It also helps to reassure myself that I’m in Ketosis and what I’m doing is working.
Keto Diet Meal Ideas
For me, I tend to rotate a handful of meals over and over again. My go to meals include:
Breakfast – eggs with a side of veggies and sour cream, coconut flour pancakes or a keto breakfast smoothie. (Here are 7 easy keto breakfast ideas and 7 low carb breakfasts without eggs.)
Lunch – a tuna salad (pictured above) with spinach, avocado and mayo or sou cream. (Here are more keto packed lunch ideas.)
Dinner – egg roll in a bowl, my best ever chicken bake, broccoli casserole or another one of the meals I’ve shared in my recipe index.
Desserts – fat bombs, strawberry mousse and chocolate cheesecake brownies are my go to easy keto sweet treats.
